90 Mile Beach

This unbroken stretch of white sand is actually closer to 90 kilometres in length (64 miles or 103 km to be exact) and is an inspiring spot to explore independently or on a guided bus tour, quad bike expedition or horse trek. Day tours of Ninety Mile Beach can be booked at Wayfarer Motel and will pick you up from the door.

Cape Reinga

See the Tasman Sea meet the Pacific Ocean at the northern tip of New Zealand which is also home to a landmark lighthouse. Day tours of Cape Reinga can be booked at Wayfarer Motel and will pick you up from the door.

Karikari Peninsula

Drive 30 minutes to the Karikari Peninsula to experience spectacular white sandy beaches, golf at Carrington Golf Club and lunch/wine tasting at Karikari Estate Winery.

Ahipara Activities

Ahipara (15 minutes drive) offers Quad-Bike rides and Blo-Karts on 90 Mile Beach or golf at Kaitaia Golf Course. Deep sea fishing charters at Ahipara or Mangonui.

Mangonui

A short 40 minute drive from Kaitaia will take you to the historic harbor town of Mangonui, known best for its world-famous fish and chips shop, moored yachts and vineyard.
